Kentucky is the only state that has a part of it that can't be reached from Kentucky. It's the "Kentucky Bend" and was created when the Great New Madrid earthquakes of 1811-1812 changed the course of the Mississippi river. And because of some wacky border laws.

What about Michigan? You can't get to the northwest part of the state from the "glove" part.
I thought the same thing at first, but you don't have to cross through another state to get there, you just have to cross the lake. The Michigan argument would then apply to Hawaii, Alaska, even New Hampshire... any other state with an island.
